Dynamic Risk Assessment Programme
Equip those people and teams operating in high-risk environments with the decision-making skills for the ambiguous, uncertain situations they face where no perfect rules or processes exist.
This programme improves self-awareness on the issues and cognitive biases which contribute to poor decision-making under pressure, and through interactive case study analysis, equips delegates with the tools to assess and manage dynamic risk more effectively.
The nature of the complex systems we live and work in means that individuals and teams often need to make decisions with significant consequences, facing ambiguity and armed with only imperfect information. Add in a healthy dose of cognitive biases and ‘human factors’ and the chance of consistent perfect decision-making is low.
Even so, we need to be approximately right rather than precisely wrong. Our DRA programmes are based on many years of experience in high-risk environments, together with the latest research from behavioural psychology.

Time: Nominally 2 days; variations are possible
The key benefit of DRA training is improved management of risk and/or safety through increased awareness of human performance limits and approaches to mitigate.
Specific programme objectives include:
- Understand the core principles of DRA
- Recognise some barriers to good decision-making in dynamic situations and how to deal with them
- Reflect on relevance of the learning to own organisation
Decision-making and risk are relevant to a wide range of organisations and industries however our primary focus are those industries where the consequences of human error and poor decisions carry the greatest consequences e.g.:
