Invited Guests see RAF Fighter Station Up Close. Visit to RAF Coningsby October 2006

On 4th October 2006 a select invited group of corporate guests took up the rare opportunity to see the workings of a Royal Air Force fighter base. On arrival the Station Commander gave a presentation explaining the history, role and assets of the station, and where it fits in to the air defence of the UK.

This fascinating insight was followed by a tour of the Eurofighter Typhoon Squadron, the Battle of Britain Memorial flight, and lunch with the Station executives in the Officers Mess. The tour was finished with a visit to Air Traffic Control and a visit to the Eurofighter Typhoon combat flight simulator, where the visitors ‘flew’ the Eurofighter Typhoon on a combat mission!
