Managing Director, Justin Hughes is Mission Excellence’s lead speaker. As a former fighter pilot and Executive Officer of the Red Arrows, he is no stranger to high performance in the most demanding of environments. And during a further 13 years as an entrepreneur and consultant, he has had an unparalleled opportunity to dissect and better understand the relevance of his experience to other organizations aspiring to high performance, as well as also learning from his clients in turn.
Author of The Business of Excellence, Justin is a renowned speaker on high performance, decision-making, risk and safety culture, and leadership. In addition to private client engagements, he has presented at a number of high-profile national and international events including the UK Institute of Directors’ Annual Convention and ‘Leaders in Dubai’.
Director of Business Development, Jas Hawker, has first-hand experience of developing and leading a world-class high performance team as Leader of the Red Arrows. As a fighter pilot, he was the youngest ever pilot to fly the Tornado ground attack aircraft on the front-line, and served on 4 operational squadrons taking part in both training and operational deployments all over the world; he is also a qualified flying instructor. He has practical experience of operational level campaign planning having deployed to Afghanistan as a Senior Air Advisor.
Jas delivers Mission Excellence presentations on high-performance teams and operational excellence.
Myles Garland is a former RAF fighter and Red Arrows pilot. He has considerable operational experience having operated the Harrier aircraft from both land bases and aircraft carriers and was awarded a ‘Mention in Despatches for Gallantry in the Air’. On the Red Arrows he was leader of the ‘synchro pair’ where he had a key role in the design, training and safe delivery of the Red Arrows’ display. Myles is now a professional civilian display pilot and presents on the Red Arrows as a high-performance team.
